What is the process of getting an alcohol server permit?
Take the course training from www.oregonalcoholserver.com. Your successful completion of the course is automatically submitted to the OLCC. Go to OLCC's test portal to fill out your application, take the test and pay the related fees.
How long is my alcohol server permit valid?
Your server permit is valid for five years. You may renew by taking the ORLA training then going to the OLCC website to take the test, submit your application and pay all applicable fees.
How do I renew my alcohol server permit?
You must renew your service permit every five years. To renew, take the alcohol server training course. Upon completion, go to OLCC's test portal to take the final exam.
I took the course online, but OLCC doesn’t have a record of the exam?

Important to Note
On March 31st, 2025, the OLCC removed the 45-day temporary serving permit. The process will still stay the same, but there will no longer be a temporary 45-day server permit while you complete the training process and OLCC final exam. Applicants must complete all required steps before serving, selling, or mixing alcohol at an on-premise location.
Post application submission, you will receive a temporary permit while the OLCC reviews your application for the 5-year permit to serve alcohol.
